Additional Accusations

It is interesting to note that on page 15 of the Massei report, it is admitted that the crime of sexual violence was purely a hypothesis (described as being jointly perpetrated by Amanda Knox and her boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito, drawing Rudy Guede into the scheme when they randomly encountered him on their way to commit the deed - even though they barely even knew who he was, having no real acquaintance or any way of knowing whether he might be more interested in participating in such a crime or more likely to report it if he knew what was intended). The idea is absurd, yet nonetheless was doggedly carried forward so they were charged with this crime. The same was true for the kitchen knife which it was imagined they brought with them from from Raffele's kitchen, and thus purported to be the murder weapon even though it was clearly shown to be incompatible with the wounds on the body, or the bloody knife print left on the bed.

Further, it was suggested that Amanda and Raffaele were the ones who stole Meredith's two cell phones, her two credit cards, and a sum of money. This too is extremely far-fetched. There was absolutely no evidence to tie either of them to taking these things and no reason for it either. Remember, neither had ever stolen anything or committed any kind of a crime before, or shown the slightest evidence of having an angry or aggressive personality. Amanda's family was not wealthy, but she had more than plenty for her own needs, and only had a job for something to do and not because she needed the money. Raffaele, the son of a wealthy Italian doctor, certainly had no need to steal money or credit cards from a young college student. He drove an Audi and had a very nice apartment. Also, both Amanda and Raffaele were exceptionally brilliant students. Even if they did have some passing moment of anger toward Meredith, both young people would have been well aware of the consequences if commiting these kind of crimes and were not stupid enough to take those kinds of risks. And in fact they had no reason to be angry with Meredith in the first place, much less mad enough to kill her. Amanda had no idea Meredith had any objection to her housekeeping habits, and even if she had, it is still a tremendous stretch of the imagination to suppose she would want to kill her for this. It is even more amazing that so many people all over the world would buy into this theory, just because it was in the judge's report.
